Awareness on pharmacy courses
Lam-based Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CIPS) on Friday conducted an awareness program on “Pharmacy Course and Career Opportunities” for the rural students of Sri Harshini Educational Society, Marturu, in Prakasam District.
The college principal N. Rama Rao said that the motive of the program was to edify the students about the status of pharmacy as a profession and its importance as a service to the community in strengthening the health care. There was special importance for the field not only in India, but also in the US, Great Britain and Australia.
Keeping in view the escalating need of qualified pharmacy professionals, various courses were started in India. Some of them were diplomas in Pharmacy (D. Pharm), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm), Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm), Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm. D) and Ph. D in pharmacy to have a bright career either in the government sector or the private sector.
Several institutes
While urging the students to opt for pharmacy courses if they had an aptitude for it, Mr. Rama Rao said that there were several institutions for these courses in Andhra Pradesh and India.
In-charge principal of the college, Ch. Anjaneyulu, staff and students of Sri Harshini Educational Society participated and prizes were distributed to students who stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their intermediate examination.
