Apply online from today for polytechnic admissions

Students who have passed the Secondary School Leaving Certificate, Technical High School Leaving Certificate or equivalent examinations can apply online through the web site www.polyadmission.org from May 12 for admission to the three-year fulltime diploma course in engineering conducted at 49 government and aided polytechnic colleges in the State.

Polytechnic admissions will be done district-wise through the single-window system. The last date for submission of online applications is May 24.

On submission of the application online, an application number will be allotted to the applicant. Take a printout of the application carrying this number and submit it along with self-attested copies of certificates and remit a fee of Rs.100 (Rs.50 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) to the Principal of any government or aided polytechnic and get a registration number from there.

Only one application is required for admission to various polytechnic colleges and courses opted within the district. If a students desires to seek admission to more than one district, remit an additional fee of Rs.100 (Rs.50 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) for each district. Guidelines and instructions for online submission of application are given in the prospectus, which has to be downloaded from the web site from May 12.

A provisional rank list will be published on June 4 and correction, if any, and change of options have to be made during the trial allotment stage. The final rank list and first select list will be published on June 11 on the web site. Applicants should keep track of the web site until they obtain permanent admission. No separate intimation letter will be issued. There are approximately 11,000 seats in the government and aided polytechnic colleges, which come under the Director of Technical Education.
