Initiation ceremony
MES Kishore Kendra PU College, Malleswaram, conducted an initiation ceremony on June 9 for students who joined the college this year. Prahalad Rao, Principal, welcomed the gathering.
Shadakshari, MD of Ramanashree Group, who was the chief guest, stressed the importance of good relations between students and teachers.
He also appealed to the students to set goals for themselves. The function was attended by a large number of students and their parents.
Certificate programme
IIT-Bombay is offering Advanced Certificate Programme in Business Analytics in the major locations of Bangalore including Malleswaram, Koramangala, Rajajinagar, Airport Road, Kammanahalli, Whitefield, Yelahanka, Residency Road, J.P.Nagar and Electronics City, targeting analysts, researchers, executives, consultants and developers for better career prospects in the corporate sector.
The programme aims to provide knowledge about sophisticated quantitative and statistical analysis by focussing on developing new insights and understanding of business performance. Business intelligence traditionally focuses on using a consistent set of metrics to both measure past performance and guide business planning. This programme focuses on enterprise analysis and requirement analysis, documentation and implementation, data modelling, the power of entity relationship diagramming and best practices in system design, solution implementation and impact communication. New programmes
GREedge.com, a leading online academy for GRE training, has launched an updated set of programmes, aimed at students aspiring to study abroad. The new Verbal and Quant lessons cover 200 hours of study.

Admissions
The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University of Law, a Hyderabad-based university, has opened admissions to its Post- Graduate Diploma courses for 2010-11. A press release from the university stated that admissions will be open till June 15.
The university offers diplomas in Patents Law, Cyber Law, Media Law and International Humanitarian Laws, all of which last for one year.
The course material will be imparted trough a dedicated website along with printed modules, CD-ROMs and contact seminars held in different cities for different courses twice a year.
Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Ahmedabad will be the centres for the diploma in Patents Law, and Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai for the diploma in Cyber Law. The seminars for Media Law will be based only in Hyderabad. The programme in Humanitarian Law is entirely web- based and open to student from Asia, Asia Pacific and South Asian countries.
Examinations for each course can be taken in any of the above mentioned centres. The courses are open to any graduate.
