Two State students get Swedish scholarships

Meritorious: Indian students receiving best thesis scholarship grants in Sweden.

Three International master students from India shared best thesis scholarship grants worth 75,000 Swedish Krona from ‘Sparbanksstiftelsen Kronan' foundation established by Swedbank.

Vinjarapu Sai Krishna Dinesh and Vishal Kondabathini, both from Andhra Pradesh and studying at Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), Sweden shared 50,000 Swedish Krona for their thesis work. They had developed a test system that facilitates the manufacture of a tele- manipulator, which enables students worldwide to connect to the BTH laboratory for electronic experiments. Another student, Anbarasan Thamizharasan, from Tamil Nadu shared 25,000 Swedish Krones.

The foundation awarded scholarship grants for encouraging the students who made a significant thesis work that is both socially beneficial and inclined towards the development of the region. These grants were handed over to the selected students during a special ceremony which was held at Blekinge Institute of Technology. The foundation president Tommy Lindgren” presented the grants to the recipients in the presence of Dr. Ursula Hass, Vice Chancellor, BTH.

The selection process is quite stringent. The thesis works of high academic standards from each university are nominated to the foundation, which selects scholarships through a jury of eminent people. Blekinge Institute of Technology, BTH, is one of the most distinctly profiled higher education institutions in Sweden with the vision of being a globally attractive knowledge community within applied IT and innovation for sustainable growth.
