Easa College of Engineering and Technology
Easa College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, received a grant of Rs. 1 lakh from All India Council for Technical Education to organise a seminar on “Effect of Climate Change and its Impact on Various Sectors”. The two-week programme for faculty members is being held in June by the Department of Chemistry with C. Daniel Yasudian and A. Ramalingam as the co-ordinators.
The Easa college received a grant of Rs. 1 lakh from All India Council for Technical Education to conduct a national level seminar on “Emerging Trends in Embedded Technologies”. The programme will be organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering during June and the co-ordinators are S. Lakshminarayanan, S.N. Sivanandam and K. Sankaranarayanan. The college also received a grant of Rs. 2 lakh from All India Council for Technical Education to organise a staff development programme on “Methodology and Data Analysis for Management Research”. This programme is being held by the Department of Management Studies during June and the co-ordinators are G. Pandurangan, R. Mahendran and L.S. Sridhar.

Research and Institutional Development Bureau of All India Council for Technical Engineering has sanctioned a grant-in-aid of Rs. 6 lakh under Entrepreneurship Development Cell scheme for Rathinam College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, to provide skill-based training in Graphic Designing, Web Designing, Costume Design and Fashion, Photography and soft skills. These courses are organised in the Rathinam Techzone campus where in addition to training, the Human Resource Development Cell helps students in placements and loan assistance.
Principal of the college P. Murugesan will be the chief co-ordinator for the project.

Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology has sanctioned Rs. 2 lakh for a project “Prevention of Clinical Coli form Mastitis in Dairy Cows by Specific Chicken Egg Yolk Immunoglobulins in Coimbatore District” to Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. The project proposal was submitted by S. Meenatchisundaram and V. Shanmugam from the Department of Biosciences.

The Director of the Department of Post Graduate and Research in Computer Applications, Hindustan College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, A.V. Senthil Kumar, received the Asia Pacific Excellence Award 2011 instituted by Citizens Integration Peace Society, New Delhi. The award was given to him during the Indo-Nepal Integration and Economic Development conference held recently at Kathmandu.

First year Mathematics student A. Nithyapriya of K.S.G. College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore,underwent Mathematics Training and Talent Search (MTTS) programme founded by National Board for Higher Mathematics, Government of India. Out of the 146 students selected across the country, Nithyapriya was placed 31 {+s} {+t}. The selection for the training was purely based on merit. Nithyapriya's training was sponsored by the college.
