QuEST Ingenium 2011
QuEST Global, a global engineering services company, announced the winners of its annual national-level intercollegiate engineering design contest 'QuEST Ingenium 2011' held on June 17. The winning team, Motilal Nehru Nation Institute of Technology, Allahabad walked away with the cash prize of Rs.1 lakh.
In all, 123 entries from 56 colleges in 39 cities were received in the first phase of the contest. After evaluation, 10 teams were invited to the QuEST premises in Bangalore to present their projects to an independent jury.
G. Madhavan Nair, former Chairman of ISRO and Secretary to the Department of Space, gave away the awards. Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, won the second prize of Rs. 50,000 and the third prize of Rs. 25,000 was shared by Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore.
The contest showcased projects such as low-cost wind turbine, robots for in vivo surgery, all-terrain vehicles, new structure materials, innovative baggage handling systems and low-cost rotary engines.
