SEA RECORDS and Prince's Music Service India Private Ltd have done a wonderful service to the devotee by taking him on a pilgrimage to the holy centres of Tirumala, Tirupati and Tiruchanoor.
The programme gets off to an impressive start with the excellent chanting of the "Suprabhatham". The illuminated "gopuram" of the Tirumala temple greets the viewer warmly.
The "avatara mahima" of Lord Mahavishnu is described and the icons depicting the glory of the ten incarnations of the Lord are a visual treat. The Tirumala temple and the presiding deity Lord Venkateswara, with thousands of "bhakthas" taking part in the "Brahmotsavam" leave a lasting imprint in one's devotional mindset.
The "Utsava Perumal" known as Kalyana Venkatesa Perumal in all his sartorial splendour is wonderful to look at.
The "Brahmotsavam" at Tirumala in the month of Purattasi (Aaswayuja masam according to the Telugu calendar) is celebrated with great devotion and involvement. The scenes of the "Brahmotsavam" festival fills one's heart with good cheer and warmth when a multitude gathers to offer worship to the Almighty with nothing but "bhakti" in their hearts.
The different "vahanams" that have the privilege of carrying the Lord on their shoulders and backs are, to name a few, the "Hamsa Vahanam", the "Simha Vahanam", the "Muthupandal Vahanam", the "Kalpavriksha Vahanam", the "Sarva Bhoopala Vahanam", with its seven spiral structure "Anandamaya Vimanam", the "Muthupallakku Vahanam" with the Lord in the "Nachiyar Tirukolam", etc, provide a magnificent spectacle. Nachiyar, the celestial consort of the Lord who is an embodiment of grace, love and kindness blesses mankind for all-time peace and prosperity.
The singing and dancing by devotees, extolling the glory of "Ongiulagalandha Utthaman" create an ambience of joie de vivre.
The Govindaraja temple at Keezhu Tirupathi where the Thayarrau is known as Kundareeka Valli, and the Thiruchanur shrine of Alarmel Mangai or Padmavathi regale the hearts, minds and souls of the pilgrims.
The music in the background, sensitively selected, is credited to various stalwarts.
The Tamil narration by Bhaskar and Latha and the Telugu one by A.V.K. Murthy enhance qualitative excellence to this praiseworthy effort.
