Aradhana in Dubai



Senior vidwans honoured at the music festival held in Dubai.

DUBAI BASED Indian Fine Arts Society and Music Lovers Association jointly organised a two-day music festival in Dubai. Tyagaraja Aradhana was observed on February 26, at the Sindhi Community Hall Dubai. Sampradaya and Pancharathna kritis were rendered by Chennai vidwans, P.S. Narayanaswamy, Seerkazhi R. Jayaraman and Thiruvengadu A. Jayaraman and U.P. Raju (mandolin), with C. Lakshminarayanan, (violin) and D. Govindarajan (mridangam). Local vidwans and vidushis participated in large numbers. The music festival, Tribute to Trinity, was celebrated at the Indian Consulate Auditorium, Dubai, on February 27. The vidwans from Chennai gave a one-hour individual concert of the compositions of the Trinity. In the evening U.P. Raju gave a wonderful mandolin solo concert. At the end of the function all the vidwans were honoured.
