The "Arul" team in discussion.

IT WAS not a set but art director Kadir had made an old house with old things like much used furniture, curtains, etc. The house was near the Apollo hospital away from bustle, and the picture was ``Arul" of Sri Lakshmi Productions. A song sequence was being shot without much fanfare. The hero Vikram was in high spirits. "This film, a totally commercial venture, is sure to be a success, if the enthusiasm and response of the unit members are any indication." Producer Ajai Kumar says, "The successful pair of Vikram and Jothika, enchanting music by Harris Jairaj and above all the slick screenplay by director Hari will sure do the magic." Giving the outline of the story director Hari says, "Vikram is a mill worker, who fights injustice of any kind. Jothika is an innocent and carefree girl. She meets Vikram and life is not the same for the two."

The film includes Vadivel, Charanraj, Ponnambalam and a host of artistes with Chaya Singh doing a dance number. Priyan handles camera and art is taken care of by Kadir. Story, screenplay, dialogue and direction are by Hari.

S. R. ASHOK KUMAR.
