Yagnam for peace


THE CHENNAI-based Thiruvengadu Subramania Ganapatigal Veda Parayana Sabha conducted an 11-day Maharudra Yagnam-cum-Veda Parayanam at Govindapuram, for world peace, near Kumbakonam, recently. Attended by hundreds of Vedic scholars, the event was inaugurated on March 3, by Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi of Kanchi Mutt. Nanganallur Kamakshi Swami also participated in the yagnam. On the concluding day, Vasordhara Yagnam and discourses were performed. In connection with the event, a specially-made "simhasana paduga" was presented to Sri Jayendra Saraswathi at Kancheepuram on March 18, according to a press note issued by S. Chandran, secretary of the Sabha.
