Rama Navami celebrations

BHARATIYA VIDYA Bhavan Kala Kendra, Mylapore, (Ph: 2494 0811/ 2464 3420) will celebrate Sri Rama Navami from March 29 to 31 at 6.30 p.m. at Bhavan's Sri Venkata auditoirum. The first day festival will feature a musical discourse, "Bhipare Rama Rasam" by Kalyanapuram R. Veeraraghavan and Govindarajan. On March 30, "Maruthi Mahimai", a thematic presentation will be staged by the students of Sri Saraswathi Gananilayam. The last day of the festival will showcase a thematic Kuchipudi dance on Lord Rama presented by Lakshmi Mani.

At Alwarpet

Asthika Samajam will celebrate the 37th year Sri Rama Navami festival on March 30 at Venus Colony, Alwarpet at 6.30 p.m. Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti inaugurates the function which will be followed by a flute recital by N. Ramani at 7 p.m.

At Tambaram

Sitadevi Garodia Hindu Vidyalaya (ph: 22396125) and Saraswathi Vaggeyakara Trust (ph: 22392291), East Tambaram, in association with Tambaram Asthika Sabha (ph: 55541995) will celebrate Sri Ramanvami from March 30 to April 4 at Sitadevi Garodia Hindu Vidyalaya, 2, Kalamegam Street, East Tambaram at 6.45 p.m. The first three-day festival will feature music concerts by Ranjani and Gayathri ; Raji Gopalakrishnan and Sanjay Subramanian respectively. Saraswathi Ramanathan will render discourses on "Nambium Nangaium," "Gnanamum Oonamum" and "Nayakanum Kavikku Nayakanum" on the last three days (April 2-4 at 6.45 p.m.)

At Kottivakkam

Shri Baktha Anjaneyar temple puja committee will celebrate Sri Ramanavi from March 29 to 31 at the temple premises, IV Cross Street, A. G. S. Colony, Kottivakkam. Music concerts, discourses, bhajans, special archanais and abhishekams and rendering of Pancharatna kritis by eminent artistes will be featured during this three-day festival.

At Karpagam Gardens

Karpagam Gardens Satsangh (Ph: 24914221) will be organising the 24th celebration of Sri Rama Navami and Seetha Kalyana Mahotsavam at Sri Karpaga Vinayakar temple, 2nd Link Street, Karpagam Gardens, Adyar. It will be held from March 29 to April 11. Ekadina laksharchana will be performed on April 4. The Bhagavatha Sampradaya Seetha Kalyana Mahotsavam will be held on April 11. There will also be music concerts by eminent artistes from March 31 to April 9.
