Kumbabhishekam of Dattatreya temple
ANAGHA LAKSHMI Sametha Aadiguru Dattatreya temple, at Sachchidananda Nagar, Taramani Road, Velachery, is one of the 16 Datta Kshetrams established in the year 1989 by Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, founder, Avadhoota Datta Peetam, Mysore. Sri Swamiji propagates Dattatreya (Trimoorthi) worship. According to the legend, Dattatreya is a combination of Brahma, Vishnu and Siva.
The Velachery Ashram and the temple which were then situated on a small piece of land have grown, with the Consecration of the Navagraha Sannidhi in 1994. In 1997 a special sannidhi for Aanjaneya was built. Swamiji christened the Moorthi as Kaarya Siddhi Aanjaneya. Devotees get their prayers fulfilled by tying a dry coconut on a tree after a special puja for 41 days. Swamiji wished to install an idol of Goddess Raja Rajeswari. With his blessing, the Raja Rajeswari temple has been built and the Maha Kumbabhishekam will be held on June 25. Samprokshanam of Anagha Lakshmi Samedha Aadiguru Dattatreya, Navagraha and Kaaryasiddhi Anjaneya will also be performed on the same day. Preliminary rituals will start on June 21. Every morning Swamiji will perform Sri Chakra Puja. Recitals by renowned artistes will be held during Sri Chakra Puja. Sri Swamiji will present a discourse on Devi Navaaham, from June 22.
To serve the poor and the needy, a hospital has been built. It will be inaugurated by Sri Swamiji on June 22. A special medical camp will be conducted during the celebrations. A three-day Kriya Yoga class on June 28, 29 and 30, has been arranged.
