National quiz on heritage

THE ZONAL level round of the all-India "Heritage India Quiz", organised by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, will be held today (not as mentioned in Metroplus dated November 25) between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., at the P.S. Senior Secondary School, 33, Alarmelmangapuram, Mylapore.

The quiz, aimed at encouraging the youth to understand our heritage, is being held at three levels. The `Cluster' level, held on October 3, drew a large number of participants, and was conducted in several centres, including Chennai.

The top eight teams will be contesting at this regional round and the winners will qualify for the national finals.

The schools which have qualified for this round are P.S. Senior Secondary School, Mylapore, Chennai; Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, K.K. Nagar, Chennai; Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Cochin; Kendriya Vidyalaya, Nagpur; Sri Akilandeshwari Vidyalaya, Tiruchi; DAV Public School, Teynampet, Chennai; Army School No. 1, Andhra Pradesh; and Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Cannanore.

The topics for the quiz include the Indian Constitution, history, geography and culture. The quiz master is Adittya Nath Mubayi of Quizcraft, New Delhi. For details, call 24640656.
