Annual day celebrated

SARIGAMAPADHANI FOUNDATION celebrated its 9th Annual Day and Award function on November 5, at Krishna Gana Sabha. A magazine in Tamil, devoted to the classical music and dance of the south, Sarigamapadhani was started eight years ago.

Carnatic vocalist Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan was conferred the title Nadasri. Danseuse Sailaja was honoured with the title of Nrityasri.

The title of Vidyasri was given to Janaki, Deputy Editor of Sruti. The inaugural function was followed by a unique programme — Kuchipudi dance by Sailaja to the accompaniment of Neyveli Santhanagopalan's vocal music.
