Abhang mela

THE VITTAL Bhajan Mandali, Adambakkam, has organised an abhang sammelan (January 28-30) with the guidance of Sri Tukaram Ganapathi Maharaj of Kadayanallur, at Sri Rukmini Sametha Panduranga Sannidhi, Sri Karpaga Vinayagar temple complex, Shanti Nagar, Adambakkam.

The preliminary events will begin on January 26 with Akhandanamam at 6 p.m. Sri Namananda Giri of Gnanananda Giri Peetam, Thennangur, will inaugurate the festival. Varakari Sampradaya bhajans will be rendered by Sri Tukaram Ganapati on Jan. 29 (6.30 p.m.) and 30 (3p.m.). Radha Kalyanam on Jan. 29 will be presented by Kovai Sri Jayarama Bhagavathar. The festival will conclude with Anjaneya utsavam.

This is the fifth sammelan being conducted. With the support of devotees and bhagavatars, a temple for Panduranga, an exact replica of the one at Pandarpur, was built and consecrated in February 2004.
