Articles of religious meet compiled
THE TIRUVANNAMALAI North District Archakas Sangam has released a book containing the proceedings of the State conference of Sivagama and Sri Vaikanasa Bhagavat Sastra conference held at Thennangur in August last.
The book edited by Sangendhi Muthu, Sanskrit lecturer, Vivekananda College, Chennai, contains papers presented at the meet and illustrations.

Thennangur temples
Sri Gnanananda Giri Peetam has released the sthalapuranam of the Tennangur temples. Thanks to the efforts of Sri Haridasgiri, disciple of Sri Gnananada Giri, temples for Sri Pandurangan (which incidentally adorns the cover), Shodasakshari Amman, Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar, Sri Lakshmi Narayanar and Sri Chelliamman.
Also the place boasts of a shelter for senior citizens, one for cows and a hospital.
Details about the temples and the social activities that have made Thennangur, known as Dakshina Halasyam, a special place have been described in the sthalapuranam, a slender volume, priced at Rs. 10.
