On a double track

Manish Goyal

ONE FINE day, Manish Goyal ceases to be Tilak. Perhaps because he finds all attention shifting to his reel wife Saroj in the Star Plus serial Bhabhi.

Seven months down the line, he gets back the role from actor Mukul Dev. Surely because this afternoon soap is beginning to direct their lights on Tilak too.

Actors walking in and out of serials, by now, is not a strange phenomenon. And if you ask, Manish would sweetly put it this way, "The production house UTV wanted me back. I wanted a few things and they were kind enough to agree. And so I returned last December."

Twists and turns

Well, leaving things at that, the actor gets talking about what Tilak is up to these days: "It is nice to act the role now as the focus has shifted to him. In coming days, you shall see more action centring around the character." Getting back to the role for which he is best remembered, Manish is already playing double role in the soap, leaving viewers baffled as to who is the real Tilak. "We are trying to keep a mystery going as to which one of the two is actually the husband of Saroj. Even in the script, it has not been mentioned," he adds. Treading on this track, he promises many more twists and turns in Bhabhi this February, and obviously, not to be talked about till seen on screen.

Starting off with the K-serial, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki as Tushar and then as Anupam in Kasauti Zindagi Kayi on Star Plus before entering Mehndi Tere Naam Ki on Zee TV, Saara Aakash again on Star Plus and then Devi on Sony TV, Manish is, but, at present doing only one serial.

"After Devi went off air from January 16, I am at present doing only Bhabhi," though he is already talking to the diva of tele-soaps, Ekta Kapoor for more work. "I have requested Ekta to keep me in mind only if there are cameos in any serial. All I can take out now is 10-11 days in a month and so small roles would suit me fine," he explains.

Married to Poonam Narula, well-known as Mahi in Kkusum, Manish says, she is taking it easy with the four-month-old Aryaveer to take care of. "And now that I have some extra time, I am catching up with family life too," adds Manish.
