Carnatic music seminar

THE DEPARTMENT of Music, Annamalai University, will conduct a seminar on Carnatic music, sponsored by UGC, on March 7 and 8.

Interested candidates can present papers related to Carnatic music, such as, music forms, raga lakshanas, nature and scope of ragas and concert format. Abstracts of the presentation not exceeding 250 words, must reach the University before February 20. They may be sent to Uma Anand, lecturer, Faculty of Fine Arts, Annamalai Universiy, Annamalainagar — 608 002. (Ph: 04144-239098). Selected papers will be presented at the seminar by the respective candidates. O. S. Thiagarajan, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Annamalai University, and Dr. Radha Bhaskar, musician and musicologist, will preside over the seminar.
