Tyagaraja Day
THE MUSIC Academy will observe February 13 as Tyagaraja Day. Puja and Veda paaraayanam followed by group rendition of Pancharatna kritis by vidwans and vidhushis will take place at T. T. Krishnamachari Auditorium at 10 a.m. In the evening, Bombay Jaishree Ramnath will render a vocal concert.
The event is conducted under the endowment instituted by P. Obul Reddy and P. Gnanamba.
Asthika Samajam, Thiruvanmiyur, will observe Tyagaraja day on February 13 beginning at 8 a.m. Namasankeertanam by Kovai Jayarama Bhagavathar and rendering of Pancharatna kritis by eminent musicians will be featured at 9 a.m.
Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha will observe Tyagaraja day on February 13 at the Mylapore Fine Arts Club.
The programme begins at 2 p.mAt 4.30, Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan will present "Tyagarajakriti Rasanubhavam." The programme concludes with Abhang sankirtana by Kadayanallur Thukaram Ganapathi Maharaj.
The Saraswathi Vaggeyakara Trust has organised music series, dedicated to the saint composer, which began yesterday (Feb 10) at Narada Gana Sabha Mini Hall.
The evening programme at 6.15 p.m. will feature utsava sampradaya kritis of Sri Tyagaraja rendered by the students of Sulochana Pattabiraman followed by vocal concert of Radhika Anand.
