Homage to Tyagaraja

BHARAT KALACHAR has organised the Tyagaraja Day function at Sri YGP Auditorium, T. Nagar on Feb. 20 at 9.30 a.m. The function will commence with prize distribution to winners of the Tyagaraja kriti competition held for the students of PSBB Schools. Six musicians will be honoured at 10 a.m. with `Veteran Award' in memory of Sri Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, former chairman, Advisory Council.

The awardees are: B. Rajam Iyer, S. Rajam, Tiruvengadu Jayaraman and M. S. Sadasivam (vocal), M. S. Anantharaman (violin), Kumbakonam Rajappa Iyer (mridangam) and Janaki Rajagopalan (harmonium). This will be followed by the group singing of Pancharatna kritis by eminent musicians.
