Purandaradasa Day

HAMSADHWANI will celebrate Purandaradasa Day on Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Youth Hostel Auditorium, Adyar. N. Vittal, IAS (Retd.) former Central Vigilance Commissioner will preside and Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti will inaugurate. The Hanrag-Hamsadhwani cash award of Rs. 10,000 will be presented to B. Ramamoorthy Rao. A special award will be conferred on `Rasika Vimarsaka' K. Sundararajan posthumously. R. K. Srikantan will render Purandara Dasa kritis accompanied by M. Chandreasekaran on the violin, Guruvayur Dorai on the mridangam and K. Srivatsa on the kanjira.
