Rama Navami celebrations

Sri Ram Samaj, W. Mambalam (Ph: 2489 3077) will celebrate Rama Navami Mahotsavam for the 52nd year till April 30 at Ayodhya Mandapam. Festivities will conclude with Sri Rama Pattabhishekam.

Karpagam Gardens Satsangh will celebrate the festival and Sita Kalyanam from April 16-24 at Karpaga Vinayakar temple, Karpagam Gardens, Adyar. There wil be music concerts on all days.

Celebrations are on at Madhavaperumal Koil, Mylapore (Ph: 2498 5112) till April 17. The car festival will be on April 15 at 7 a.m. Sri Rama Pattabhishekam will be on Sat. at 7 p.m. and Hanumantha Vahanam on April 17 at 7 p.m. Special Alankara Tirumanjanam for the moolavar and utsavar idols of Rama at 9.30 a.m. on Sunday.

Sri Baktha Anjaneyar temple, Kottivakkam will celebrate from April 16-18. The deity will be taken out in a procession on April 17 (6.45 p.m.) Sri Thiagaraja Sangeetha Vidwath Samajam has organised a lec-dem on Sri Thiagaraja Divyanama kritis by Vidya Shankar and disciples (veena) on April 17 at 6.30 p.m. The venue will be at No. 5, Thiagarajapuram, Mylapore (Ph: 2498 2270).

At Oppiliappan Koil, near Kumbakonam, the festival will be celebrated for 11 days from April 18. Sita Kalyanam (April 26), Kanakabhishekam and Pattabhishekam (April 27) will be important events. A Putrakama Ishti yagnam will also be performed on April 24. Music concerts, cultural events and discourses will be held on all days.

Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Baktha Samajam, Ammangudi, Kumbakonam will celebrate the festival (April 18-28) with Sita Kalyanam (April 27) and Anjaneya Utsavam (April 28) at the Lakshmi Narayana Perumal temple.
