Seminar
A four-hour seminar has been organised under the auspices of Vedic Sangeeta Foundation at Tag Centre, 36, TTK Road, Alwarpet on May 8. Eminent personalities like K. Parasaran, Neurophysician Dr. Krishnamoorthy Srinivas, police administrator C. L. Ramakrishnan and scholar and musicologist Pappu Venugopala Rao will speak on a range of subjects.
Consecration
The consecration of Lord Anjaneya at Sri Yathokthakari Swami temple, Yathokthakari Swami Sannadhi Street, Vishnu Kanchipuram - 631 501 (Ph: 041112/232011) will take place at the temple's Vahana Mandapam on April 22 at 6 a.m. The Vahana mandapam was recently repaired at a cost of Rs. 5 lakhs. The deity will be taken out on a procession on a renovated Hanumantha Vahanam.
Festival
Brahmotsavam is on at the Sri Veeraraghava Swami temple, Tiruvallur - 602 001 (Ph: 04116 - 260378/954116-260378). On April 22 Tirumanjanam will take place followed by the deity's procession on Kudhirai Vahanam. Aalmel Pallakku, Vijayakodi Vimanam and Ratnangi Sevai for the Utsavar will take place on April 23. The festivities will conclude with Kannadi Pallakku on April 24.
Special abishekam
Special 108-palkuda abishekam and Muthangi sevai will be performed to the deity of Sri Vishnu Durgai Ambal at Sri Lakshmi Vinayakar, Sri Lakshmi Narasimhaswami, Sri Vishnu Durgai temple, Adambakkam, on April 24 (Chitra Pournami day). Those who wish to register may do so by paying Rs. 101 for each palkudam.
Inauguration
The inauguration of Adambakkam Isai Sangam (Ph: 2244 8841) will take place at Sri Rajavinayagar baktha Mandali, 3rd Street, V. V. Colony, on April 24 (6.30 p.m.) Prior to this Mangala Isai (4 p.m.) and Veda Parayanam (5.30 p.m.) will take place. Chief Guest Justice T. S. Arunachalam will light the kuthuvilakku. Chinmaya Sisters will give a concert at 7 p.m.
Float festival
The Teppotsavam (Float festival) of Sri Prasanna Venkatachalapathy Perumal Temple, Gunaseelam, Musiri Circle, Tiruchi District, will be celebrated on April 24. Devotees may have darshan of Moolavar Muththangi Sevai from 8. 30 a.m. Teppotsavam at the Papa Vinasa Tank will be held at 9 p.m.
Brahmotsavam
The Brahmotsavam of Sri Prasanna Venkata Narasimha Perumal Temple, Perumal Koil Street, Saidapet, will be celebrated from April 22 to May 2. The installation of Utsava Anjaneyar and the Mahasamprokshanam at the temple will take place on April 22 between 8 and 9 a.m.
