Dearth of funds
SAMPROKSHANAM PLANNED: Temple in Kanigiluppai village
Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal temple, situated in Kanigiluppai village, Arni taluk, Tiruvannamalai district, is in need of funds for the construction of Rajagopuram and renovation.
Located on the Arni-Kanchipuram route, this temple was constructed by the late Venkatrama Iyer 70 years ago at Kanigiluppai village.
Now, it is being maintained by his family members.
The presiding deity, Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal, is seen with Goddess Lakshmi on His lap, a conventional pose. Childless couples and youth, who wish to have obstacles for marriage removed, visit here.
The temple has separate shrines for Vishwaksenar, Anjaneyar and Garudan.
Special pujas are performed on Vaikunda Ekadasi, Garuda Sevai, Navaratri and so on.
On these days, the Utsavar with His Consorts Sridevi and Bhoodevi is seated in the temple car and taken in procession.
Kumbabhishekam was performed twice (in 1984 and 1998) with the help of public contribution.
A trust has been formed, in the name of the deity, to take care of the construction and samprokshanam.
The estimate is Rs. 7 lakhs. Contributions may kindly be sent to Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple Trust, 30, Warren Road, Mylapore, Chennai - 600004.
