Gadadhar Puty treads the directorial path once again.

COMEBACK A sequence from Gadadhar Puty's film.
Gadadhar Puty, an FTII alumnus had directed Ashara Aakash, his maiden Oriya film, over two decades ago.
But the film could not set the box-office ringing and Puty beat a retreat. Thereafter, it was editing rather than direction where he has been making his mark.
But now he is making a comeback with a film that has a different flavour. He is directing a Oriya film Pooja Paeen Phoola Tie (A Rose for Pooja).
This directorial effort of Puty centres round a 13-year-old girl, her love and friendship, and the turmoil she faces in relationships. Her inchoate awakening to the complexities of life and living forms the staple of the film shooting for which is on in and around Bhubaneswar.
Adyasha Mohapatra, the child artiste who had given a sterling performance in National Award winning film Aw Aakare Aa, essays the central role of Pooja.
While ace cinematographer Jugal Debata handles the camera, production is in charge of Padmini Puty.
The film's cast include Adyasha Mohapatra, Akankshya Kabi, Soumen Pujari, Sumanta Mani, Naina das, Lisa Mohanty, Rusi Pattnaik, and Hadu Pattnaik.
The mahurat of the film was held recently with Subas Das, director of Aw Aakare Aa breaking the coconut. Puty says that although he is planning to make a wholesome film, it cannot be categorised as art-house cinema. There are commercial touches in the form of songs too.
