Honour for Malayalam film
"Parinamam" (Malayalam), produced by National Film Development Corporation and directed by Venu, has won the best screenplay award at the Ashdod International film festival held in Israel recently.
The film deals with the sense of loneliness and rejection faced by the aged. Balakrishann Marar faces callous treatment from his family after his retirement. Akin to his story is that of the mentally disturbed and lonely former judge Damodaran Nambison.
The cast includes Matampu Kunjukuttan (who has also written the story, screenplay and dialogue), Nedumudi Venu, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Ashokan and Shalu Menon. Music is by Johnson, cinematography by M. J. Radhakrishnan. Venu directs the film.
