New releases
Geethanjali has released two devotional DVDs — `Shree Ganesh' and `Shree Hanuman.' Both contain hymns in Sanskrit. The Ganesh DVD offers more than 20 stotras. Viewers are treated to visuals captured at the Ganesh Chaturti festival celebrated at various places. `Shree Hanuman' has Gayatri, Dhyanam, Chalisa, Bhujangam, Pancharatnam and so on. The slokas are accompanied by pujas and abhishekam conducted at Hanuman temples. The Sanskrit hymns in both albums have been rendered by a team of pandits led by Prof. Thiagarajan. Technical support has been rendered by Manikavinayagam. Produced and marketed by Super Audio (Madras) Pvt. Ltd. (52140068/69), each album is priced at Rs. 300.
Special concert
Kunnakudy School of Music, Tiruvanmiyur (Ph: 2448 1197) has organised a bhajan concert by Ravi at Neelakanteswarar temple, Neelangarai on June 4 at 5.15 p.m.
New sabha
A new sabha, `Music Connoisseurs Club' is to be inaugurated by R. Krishnaswami, president, Federation of City Sabhas, at Sastri Hall, Luz, on June 5 at 6 p.m. G. K. Vasan, president, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, will preside. Sudha Raghunathan and party will render the inaugural concert.
