BOOKS RELEASED: The highlight of Omkarananda Sangam's anniversary celebration in Paris was the release of two books containing the discourses of Swamiji.
The spiritual connection of Pondicherry with France has been highlighted by the first anniversary celebrations of Guru Omkarananda Sangam at the City University premises in Paris recently. Pondicherry has already established the French connection culturally and architecturally. Now with the functioning of the Sangam in Paris, the spiritual link has also been established.
The celebration was marked by special discourses by the founder of Sri Omkara Ashram Swami Omkarananda.
Two books containing the highlights of the Swamiji's discourses on `Sivathai Kaattum Iyendezhuthu' (the five letters showing the prowess of Siva) and `Sri Sathguru Aganda Naamavali' were released as part of the celebrations.
According to a functionary of the ashram, the nagaswaram recital and singing of religious hymns on the occasion added lustre to the function. In his special address, Swami Omkarananda said meditation enhanced the inner personality of man and it was the duty of everyone to show concern for fellow beings, and relieve the sufferings of people by showing love and affection to all.
Treasurer of Omkara Sangam, Kaliaperumal, founder of Ramalingar Pani Mandram in Paris, Rathina Sivashanmugham, graced the occasion. Representatives of various organisations also spoke.
