Lillete Dubey has been there and done all that, including being "a diva for 30 years," and an "accidental film actress." She laughs throatily, and dramatically says, "I see things," and laughs some more saying, "I mean I think visually, I can see how text will be translated visually on stage and that is why I am soon going to be directing my film."
"I should, Inshallah start shooting by the end of the year. The film is set in the world of dance - classical and modern. Mahesh Dattani is writing the script. The film is about three women and a man. The female leads are almost final - Juhi Chawla, Esha Deol and my daughter Neha. While the movie is about relationships, there are also sub-themes like the choices a woman artiste has to make. I would describe the movie as an engaging entertaining Hindi movie with a social context. What you take from it is entirely up to you."
Lillete continues, "I do not know what it is about some movies that cut across barriers of region, age and gender." We will be seeing Lillete and Neha together after "Monsoon Wedding" in "Bow Barracks Forever" in August and there is "Sau Jhoot Ek Sach" with Mammooty in July.
"I am doing this fun movie called `My Name is Anthony Gonsalves' directed by E. Nivas (Shool) and there is `Ek Ladki Bholi Bhali Si' directed by Basu Bhattacharya. And there are two films by young NRI directors and then there is my film."
