Monologues from the Mythologies came as a treat to the audience at the `Mono-Action Festival'.

Veteran stage actors specialised in enacting mythological characters gave stellar performances at the weekly cultural programme conducted by the State Department of Culture, at the Kshetrayya Kala Kshetram, Vijayawada.
Though the audience sitting in the so- called air conditioned auditorium never had even a whiff of cool air, the quality of the performances in the Mono-Action Festival which started nearly one hour late for no obvious reason, made them sit through and enjoy.
The programme took off to a fine start with a gripping monologue delivered forcefully and effectively by reputed mythological actor Achanta Venkataratnam Naidu. The piece was from the famous episode of Maya sabha . Naidu's striking costume of Suyodhana Sarwabhowma and his perfectly modulated performance impressed the audience immensely.
Equally impressive was the performance of A.Venkateswara Rao of Tenali who is known for portyal of Lord Srikrishna.
Rao enacted a scene from Srikrishna Rayabaram very effectively. Surabhi Jamuna Rayulu of Hyderabad also gave a sterling performance of Chandramathi from the drama Satya Harischandra.
The final treat was the dignified portrayal of T.A. Subbarao of Hyderabad who enacted the role of Mahamanthri Timmarasu . D. Chandrasekhar's colourful commentary added lustre to the programme.
