Anniversary celebrations

Two Sangeetha Sabhas have folded up in Ranipet after six and 26 years of survival but the third one, Amirthavarshini Sangeetha Sabha, celebrated its seventh anniversary recently at the Vedha Bhavan Auditorium. Sponsored by Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetti, patron of AVSS, the programme included a concert by flautist N. Ramani, who had rendered the inaugural concert in 1969, accompanied by Srimushnam Raja Rao on the mridangam and Srirangam R. Kannan on the morsing. Geetha Rajasekhar, president of the Sabha welcomed the gathering. C. S. Vijayaraghavan (Ragu) read the annual report. Tiruvarur Bhakthavatsalam, advisor of the Sabha, introduced the artistes and Sundaramurthy proposed the vote of thanks.
