The Mixed Bag

An exhibition of paintings from the gallery's collection was on view at Gallerie Art, Malcha Marg market, Chanakyapuri.

Participating artists included Alka Mathur, Ankur Rana, Chris Revelle, JMS Mani, Seema Kohli, Shridhar Iyer, Swapan Kr Brahm, Yusuf Arakkal and others.

Summer Theatre

The month-long summer theatre festival of the NSD Repertory Company came to an end this past week. Abhimanch and Sanmukh staged a number of plays daily.

Some of the plays included Mohan Maharishi's `Deewar Mein Ek Khidkee Rehti Thi', Robin Das's `Amandas Ka Potha', Chittaranjan Tripathy's `Taj Mahal Ka Tender', Suresh Sharma's `Ek Violin Samandar Ke Kinare', Chittranjan Giri's `Gunda', Ranjit Kapoor's `Short Cut' and others.

Other plays featured this past week at the Habitat Centre included Vijay Tendulkar's comedy `Panchi Aise Aatey Hain', Delhi Players' comedy `Bade Na Khelein Chhote Khel' and Narendra Mohan's `Mr. Jinnah'.

Summer Workshop

At the ongoing summer workshops for children of all ages being conducted by the British Council, this past week witnessed workshops on `Innovation and Creativity', `The me in me - my talent, my dream' and `The Junkyard'.

While `Innovation and Creativity' was aimed at motivating participants to be creative and innovative in daily activities, the second one was an attempt to channelise the talents of the children and the inherent energy in them.

`The Junkyard' is a creativity game to bring out the creative aspects of the participants and promote their inbuilt talents.

Devotional Songs

Swasthika Mukherjee from Shantiniketan presented devotional songs at the Habitat Centre.

Besides, Sovon Hazra presented an evening of Indian classical fusion music.
