American film festival

The office of Public Affairs US Consulate General for South India and the Madras Film Society inaugurated the festival of landmark American films of the 1960s and 1970s.

Titled "The New Hollywood," a series of English films are being screened at the Film Chamber Theatre, Gemini Circle.

Inaugurated by actor Madhavan, on June 20, this week's series comprises, "The Godfather," starring Marlon Brando on June 24 at 6.30 p.m.; "Jaws," from Steven Spielberg on June 25 at 3 p.m. followed by the John Travolta starrer, "Saturday Night Fever," at 6.30 p.m.
