Anniversary
To commemorate the third anniversary of Mani Krishnaswami, her friends, rasikas and disciples have organised a memorial function at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore on July 12 at 6 p.m. Justice S. Mohan, retired judge, Supreme Court of India will preside. M. S. Perumaal, Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Chennai will release the `VCD 2004 Archives' containing her songs. Leela Samson will receive the first copy. R. K. Srikantan will give a concert at 7.30 p.m.
Competition
As part of its 36th anniversary celebrations, Sri Suprabhata Sabha, West Mambalam is conducting music, bhajan and sloka competitions. For music (July 17) and group bhajan (July 24 and August 7) competitions, the last date for registration is July 10 and for sloka competition (Aug 21) the last date is July 30.
