Quoting the President in the titles or displaying the Mahatma's biography in the climax can in no way sanctify the grossness that inundates Studio Lights' `Alaiyadikkudhu' (A).
A rape victim going around killing those who indulge in the nefarious act and eventually getting killed may sound all right for a cinematic story, but there is something called sensitivity in treatment and finesse in presentation which writer-director Kalimuthu seems totally unaware of.
The depravity shocks you — and when it comes in the name of doing justice to women it angers you even more.
The heroine's pleas in court in no way justify the debauchery projected. Getting into an analysis of the kinkiness of the film or the heroine's vendetta is just not worth your while. Your only fervent hope is that such films don't worm their way into homes via the satellite channel route.
