PICTURESQUE BACKDROP: Balu Mahendra and his crew shooting for "Adhu Oru Kanakkaalam."
"It is a paradise on earth," says one of the assistant directors. ``There is no need to go abroad in search of a location," pipes another. They are sitting on the lawns of the VGP golden beach.
The shooting is in progress for the fourth successive day in and around the shore and inside the garden, constructed for the people to sit and look at the beautiful beach and also the rising and setting of the sun.
In the centre of the activity is cameraman-director Balu Mahendra (also in charge of story, screenplay, dialogue, camera, editing), shooting for Vishwa Films' "Adhu Oru Kanakkalam" with Dhanush and Priyamani in the lead.
Dhanush is happiness personified. "He is shaping and chiselling me," he says referring to the director. ``The way he composes a shot is incredible," he adds. ``You will see a much improved Dhanush in this film," he says oozing confidence. What does Balu Mahendra have to say about that? ``Well, I have shown Dhanush in a different light. You can see the fire in his eyes. He is the guy next door, young and energetic."
What is the story about? "Adhu Oru Kanakkalam" is about the generation gap between a father and son. "I have taken a few scenes in this place," said the director. `Anthanal Gnabagam' is a montage.
The beach is also the backdrop for the song `Unnale Thookam Ketuppochu' picturised on Dhanush and Thejashree and choreographed by Shivashanker.
Ilaiyaraaja has composed all the songs. ``I have roped in some of the best talent in the Tamil film industry. The cast includes Delhi Ganesh, Usha, Karunas, `Thalaivasal' Vijai, Kalai Rani and Shanmugarajan. The release has been delayed due to certain circumstances but soon it will hit the theatres," said the director.
