Entry through Malayalam

Kadhalar Kondattam

K. T. Kunjumon, whose films secured immense popularity for its heroes, heroines and technicians, a decade or so ago, seemed to have lost the magic touch when it came to his son. He tried to launch his son Ebi in a big way with `Koteeswaran,' which had a young, ravishing Simran as heroine, about six years ago. The film is still to see the light of day.

His next attempt for Ebi, `Swasam,' also failed to take off. The hero now enters Tamil through the Malayalam route — Ebi's `Youth Festival,' with Sharmili, which has reportedly done reasonably well, is being dubbed in Tamil as `Kadhalar Kondattam.'
