New releases
Geethanjali (Ph: 5214 0068/69) has released two new CDs titled, `Divine Kavachas' and `Divine Pancharatnas and Bhajans,' both recitals in Sanskrit. Rendered in traditional style by Dr. R. Thiagarajan and other Sanskrit scholars, and marketed by Super Audio (Madras) Pvt. Ltd., the first CD includes kavachas on Ganapathy, Durga, the nine planets and also Hanuman. The Pancharatnas in the second CD include those on gods and goddesses like Ganesa, Ayyappa, Amba, Hanuman and Rama to name a few.
Consecration
Sastha Paripalana Trust, Sri Ayyappan Temple, Plot No. 201/A-4, Red Hills Road, Shanmughapuram, Kallikuppam, Chennai-600 052, will perform the kumbabhishekam of the Ayyappan Temple on July 8, (today), between 6.20 a.m. and 6.48 a.m.
Kumbabhishekam
The Ashtabandhana Maha Kumbabhishekam of Sri Ayyappan Temple, Red Hills Road, Shanmugapuram, Kallikuppam will take place on July 8 at 6.20 a.m. Jayarama Bhagavathar will render bhajans on Friday at 7 p.m. The temple is special in that it resembles the temple for the Lord at Sabarimala. Mandalabishekams begin from July 9. Devotees may send their donations, for the regular conduct of pujas, in the form of DD/Cheque drawn in favour of Sastha Pripalana Trust, Ambattur.
Dance Drama
The Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi Dance School, Sailasudha, No. 33, Chamiers Road, Nandanam, (Ph: 2435 2882) will present, `Sivaththai Manandha Thamizh,' a dance drama, on July 10, 5.30 p.m., at the Music Academy, TTK Road.
