Fonds Sud Cinema is a resolutely pragmatic tool, which since 1984 has fostered cinematic production in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Along with the French Embassy and the Alliance Francaise the organisation in collaboration with the Hyderabad Film Club presents Festival Au Sud Du Cinema with screenings at Sri Sarathi Studios, Ameerpet.
Hyenes to be screened on July 18 is a story of riches, love and betrayal. Les Silences du Palais is the story of a girl sick of being a wedding singer. She is tired of her lover and longs to have a child.
Then the announcement of a death pushes her on the trail of an unknown father who might be the prince himself. The film is scheduled for July 19.
West Beyrouth scheduled for July 20 is the story of two Muslim teenagers and a Christian girl when civil war breaks out in the city.
Luna Papa scheduled for July 21 is the story of a mysterious seduction, a pregnancy out of wedlock and the loss of family honour.
Ali Zaoua on July 22 is the story of street urchins and the friendship they share. When one of them is killed the other three decide to give him the funeral he deserves.
Platform on July 23 covers the tribulations of a theatre company who have turned to rock `n roll and the many adventures that the artistes go through.
La Cienaga on July 25 is the story of a summer vacation that goes terribly wrong. Les Gens de la Riziere on July 26 is the story of a family that revolves around their land and the harvest of rice they cultivate.
Lettre D'amour Zoulou is the story of a black journalist, her drinking problem and her relationship with her deaf and dumb daughter. Everything changes when another woman visits her with a strange request.
