A long winding narration
CHINNA: Rambling storyline

Storyline: A ruffian falls in love and pays the price for it.
Bottomline: Too loooong.
Arjun's faith in himself and director Sundar C. must have made him accept the role of the anti-hero in Sri Sri Chitra's ``Chinna."
In keeping with Arjun's reputation as `action king' the director has started the film with a fight scene.
The film that starts in Rameswaram ends in Hyderabad. Well, at the end of the long journey the viewer feels tired.
The first aspect that strikes one as odd is the number of climaxes that stretch the length of the film beyond a point of endurance. With better control over the script, the narration would have been more interesting.
Costly mistake
Chinna (Arjun) is a rowdy in Rameswaram. He meets Gayathri (Sneha), a research scholar, and accompanies her as escort to an island.
He unwinds there and she is all sympathy. He thinks it is love, a mistake that proves very costly.
A murder in which Chinna gets involved (he goes to jail) complicates the scene and the story takes several twists and turns more than what the audience bargains for.
Arjun has played his part well. Sneha could have done better to show distress. Raghu as Vikramathithya has little scope to act.
Rajesh, Sulakshana, Vinuchakravarthi, Manivannan, Ponnambalam Riyaskhan, Kashankhan and Livingstone do justice to the roles given. Vijayakumar as the police officer does not disappoint his fans. Of the five songs (music D. Iman) two stand out. Particularly `Yaar Yaaro,' theme song incidentally, sung by S. P. Balasubramaniam. Suraj's dialogue has ped.
