Theatre festival
United Visuals will celebrate 25 years of stage life of its chief `TV' Varadharajen and the anniversary of the troupe that has just completed a decade, with a 25-day theatre festival, `Dramas galore,' from July 22 to August 15. The plays will take place in various venues in the city as follows: July 22 to 24 — Narada Gana Sabha; July 25 to 28 — Bharat Kalachar; July 29 and 30 — Sri Krishna Gana Sabha; August 1 to 4 — Rani Seethai Hall; August 5 to 7 — Mylapore Fine Arts Club; August 8 to 11 — Mini Vani Mahal; August 12 and 13 — Vani Mahal; August 14 and 15 — Narada Gana Sabha.
Book release
Smt. Mangalam Ganapathy Music Trust (Ph: 2835 0033/2435 6949) will release a book, `Mangala Geetham - Vol. 5' comprising Mangalam Ganapathy's compositions and two audiocassettes containing songs rendered by Sattur Sisters and G. Srikanth on July 22 at Dakshinamurthy Auditorium, R. K. Mutt Road, Mylapore, 5 p.m. A series of concerts has been organised till July 24 at the same venue.
Special concerts
As part of the 84th birth anniversary celebrations of Chidambaram Swarnavenkatesa Dikshitar, Sri Swarnaguru Sevaks Committee has organised Rudra Ekadasini on July 22 (7 a.m. onwards) at NKS Hall, Kasturba Nagar, Adyar. For details, dial: 2445 6294.
