Straight talk with Sada

S. R. ASHOK KUMAR

`Priyasakhi,' Sada's next film after `Anniyan,' is releasing today.

Sada

Sada made quite an impression in `Anniyan.' As she eagerly awaits the release of `Priyasakhi,' she shares a few of her experiences.

What type of person is Sada?

I am a very sensitive person and a little reserved.

What does `Priyasakhi' mean?

Literally `dear friend.' The heroine's name is Priya and her lover is Santhana Krishnan, called Sakhi. As far as I am concerned I have a lot of scope in the film.

The shooting seems to have been completed quite fast. The credit must go to the director. The whole talkie portion was finished in 30 days and the songs were over in 15 days. I think I have done the film to the satisfaction of my director.

Is director Adhiyaman a taskmaster?

Adhiyaman works hard. He has directed all the top heroes and heroines in Hindi films. It is a joy to work with him.

After "Priyasakhi" what?

I'm doing two films in Telugu in which I have good characters. If I get a very good Tamil offer from a good banner and director I may do it.

How was the response to "Anniyan"?

Very good. People never expected me to do a glamorous role. In fact, in Telugu the appreciation is more.

So you are ready to do glamour roles also?

Yes, why not? But only to an acceptable level.

How was it working with Madhavan?

He is more like a friend. I worked with him in "Edhiri." We were shooting a song for ``Priyasakhi" and I was to the pillion rider on a water scooter. As I do not know swimming I told the unit that I would not be able to do it. But Madhavan told me to try. When I sat on it, it moved because of the waves. I was carried away a little into the sea and I started to cry. It was Madhavan who brought me back to the shore. It was a a frightening experience.
