Guitar Concert

Alliance Francaise de Delhi presented a Classical guitar concert by Shyamant Behal this past week at the M.L. Bhartia auditorium in Lodhi Estate. He was joined for duet and quartet by Shankar Dey, Regis Guiu and Lallawm Zuala.

Stray Feathers

A photographic exhibition, `Stray Feathers' by the Jaipur-based Somendra Singh was on view at the India International Centre. The exhibition showcased the beauty of the avian form.

In Conversation

India International Centre presented Uttara Asha Coorlawala, New York based dancer and choreographer in conversation with Sunil Kothari, dance historian, scholar and critic on Modern Indian Dance. The programme included screening of excerpts of choreographic works by Uttara Asha Coorlawala.

Dance Programmes

While Sujata Mohapatra, disciple of the legendary late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, presented an Odissi recital at the Habitat Centre, India International Rural Cultural Centre presented dance recitals which were performed at various school premises in the city. The programme included Kathak dance recitals by Vandana Kaul and Parul Mishra and Manipuri by Charu Mathur. Besides it also featured Hindustani vocal recitals by L.K. Pandit.

Tabla Trio

The tabla trio - Nageshwar Lal Karn and his sons Roshan and Gulshan Karn - presented Taal Sangam at the IIC auditorium. They were accompanied by Mohammed Ahsan (sarangi) and Ustad Arif Ali (harmonium).

Art Exhibitions

A group exhibition `Reflections of Nature', with participating artists Anil Gurtoo, Ramesh Rana, Pratap Ripudaman Gill, Shalini Kakar and others, was on view at Indraprastha Art Gallery. An exhibition of paintings by Bijan Paul and C. Bhowmick was on display at Shanta Art Gallery. Habiart Foundation presented an exclusive exhibition of paintings by "three generations of the Ash Family".
