Meet the maker of Amu
Shonali Bose
Shonali Bose, the acclaimed film maker, shot to fame with her award-winning short films, The Gendarme is Here (1993) and Undocumented (1995). Her award-winning documentary Lifting The Veil (1997), which investigated the early effects of globalisation on India, brought her tremendous critical acclaim.
Her novel Amu, which formed the basis for her film's (by the same name) screenplay, was written in 2004 and was released concurrently with the film.
The filmmaker, received the Gollapudi Srinivas Award for "excellence in their debut ventures", apart from several other prestigious awards.

The film has also been screened at festivals such as the Berlin International Festival and the Toronto International Festival.
Collective Chaos brings her debut film Amu to Bangalore, which will be screened on August 7 at 3.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. at CFD Sona Towers, Millers Road.
The screening will be followed by Director Encounter, a question and answer session with Shonali Bose answering it herself. It is open to all.
