The film being shot in a beautiful ambience has a totally new feel to it.

SCREEN PAIR Manoj and Tamanna in Mohan Babu's untitled film
"Wow" was the expression on our minds when we entered the sprawling Alankritha gardens on the suburban Medchal Road. Dusk was slowly giving way to night. The well-lit twelve-acre garden is undoubtedly an environmentalist's dream.
It is a combination of ethnicity, aesthetics and ecology with its greenery, wonderful stone and wooden carvings and a large luxurious farmhouse amidst the pollution free ambience.
The serene atmosphere reminds one of Mohan Babu's educational institutions at Rangampet near Tirupati. No wonder he chose this famed garden to shoot a portion of his as-yet-untitled 42nd film made under the Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner.
Directed by Dasarath, it has flamboyant Manoj and newcomer Tamanna in the lead. There is a lot of hungama taking place in the spacious hall inside the beautifully done up farmhouse.
It looked like a marriage scene with so many `guests' milling around. "No prizes for guessing,"the soft-spoken director says.
"It is a wedding scene alright but very crucial to the film. This scene leads to another turning point in the script," smiles Dasarath keeping us guessing about the `turning point.'
Talking about his lead actors, he says Manoj is a born actor - casual, cool and natural while debutante Tamanna is talented and spontaneous.
Apart from the lead pair, Brahmanandam, Sunil, Rajesh, Duvvasi Mohan and other members of the laughter club listen attentively to the director before he calls for a take.
The film rolled to capture the fun and frolic that are part of a friend's wedding. The extravaganza is in tune with the rich atmosphere provided by the luxurious farmhouse.
"It is the story, its screenplay and the narrative style that offers something new that the audience have not seen earlier. The basic ingredients are love, romance and action but the ambience is new and the narrative as I said is doubly new," says the director.
He adds that the story takes place in Kolkata and Bhuvaneswar and travels to Puri and Cuttack.
"It is a new backdrop altogether." Earlier Mohan Babu who produces the venture and acts in a key role said Manoj's role in the film stands out and will help him carve a permanent place in the industry. He said he was cast as a poor man who works under a landlord (played by Kota Srinivasa Rao). "It is an interesting role that I haven't played in my career (spanning over 500 films). A good Samaritan, the poor look to him."
The director is unwilling to divulge further details about the role and how it is related to the lead actors. "His role is set in a village and it is very crucial to the story but it is too early to reveal any details," smiles Dasarath as he watches the actors rehearse for the next take.
He adds that Sukanya plays the hero's mother and Nagababu, the heroine's father.
Sandeep Chowta has scored the music. The unit flies today to Mauritius to film a song on the lead actors.
"We have filmed two songs in special sets here in Hyderabad. On our return from Mauritius we will be filming the rest of the songs and the remaining talkie portions. "This edge-of-the-seat entertainer is slated for a Dasara release."
