Go patriotic

Doordarshan, Chennai, rolls out an exciting package on Independence Day, which begins with Mangala Isai at 5.30 a.m. A special episode of `Aha Paadalaam' at 9 a.m.; comedy skit at 10 a.m.; thematic programme featuring patriotic songs from films at 12.30 p.m. will be featured during the forenoon session.

The afternoon programmes will feature a debate entitled "Samudhaya Nalan Tharuvadhu Naatupura Paadala? Allathu Thirai Paadalaa? at 1.30 p.m.; interview with freedom fighters at 3 p.m. followed by comedy film, "Michael, Madana, Kamarajan," at 4 p.m. and much more. Vijay TV offers an array of programmes for Independence Day.

The specials chart runs like this: debate at 8 a.m. with Dindigul I. Leoni as moderator, interview with actor Surya at 9 a.m. followed by a face-to-face with Vikram at 10 a.m. Listen to maestro Illayaraja as he talks about his latest music album, `Thiruvaachagam' at 11 a.m. Special movie, `Kamaraj,' at 1.30 p.m.; tête-à-tête with actor Parthiban at 4.30 p.m., curtain raiser for the Silambarasan starrer, `Thotti Jaya,' at 5.30 p.m., a musical nite featuring singer Hariharan at 7 p.m. keep the show alive.

Jaya TV's special begins with Suprabatham at 5.30 a.m. followed by Arul Neram and music programme of Rajhesh Vaidya at 6.30 a.m.



I-DAY SPECIAL: Kalaimalar features a lively chat with actor Vivek.

Meet comedian-actor Vivek, special guest in Kaalai Malar to be aired at 7.30 a.m. Interviews with actress Asin at 9.30 a.m. and music director Devi Sri of `Sachin' fame at 10 a.m. will be followed by a special programme at 10.30 a.m. in which actor Prabhu Deva, singer Unnikrishnan and cricketer Hemang Badani will participate and share their experiences.

Special interviews bring home Arya, Namita and Sada. On-the-sets shots from the film ``Paruthiveeran," a feature film and much more are the other highlights.
