In memory of Chembai

A music fete will be held to observe Chembai's birth anniversary.



MUSICAL LEGEND: Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar.

A music festival in Thiruvananthapuram to observe Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar's 109thbirth anniversary was inaugurated by K.G. Jayan, a disciple of Chembai, on August 18.

The festival will conclude on August 25.

Thrissur Dileepkumar and party (August 19), Krishnamohan and party, and Ramkumar Mohan (August 20) Subbulakshmi Krishnamurthy and party (August 22), Surya Prakash (August 23) and Sivaranjini and Nalinakanthi (August 24) will perform during the festival.

A flute concert by Balasai from Chennai (August 21) would be another attraction.

Chembai's disciple, T.V. Gopalakrishnan, will participate in the valedictory function and also lead a concert.
