HAPPY TRIO: Vetrivel & Saktivel
It is deceptively calm at the VGP Golden Beach where a shooting is supposed to be in progress. Where is everybody and the buzzle associated with film shooting? Only as one advances towards the spot does one hear strains of music. So it is a song sequence in progress. It is a working day and that explains the sparse crowd.
The scene unfolds as one gets closer. Satyaraj and son Sibiraj are coming together after a few films with Khushboo as the boy's mother.
Khushboo, beautiful and vivacious is said to have accepted the role after refusing to do so with other stars. All the three are moving in harmony, in perfect sync, with choreographer Kalyan supervising the dance.
Lakshmi Priyan, who has worked with directors Manivachagam and T. P. Gajendran, has for the first time holding the reins.
He is also in charge of the story, screenplay, dialogue and direction. The film's name was changed after its inauguration day. Now it is called Lakshmi Arts "Vetrivel & Saktivel."
Family oriented
"This film is fit to be seen by the entire family," says the director. Not surprising from a man who has worked with directors who have only given social or family-oriented subjects. Vadivelu's role is a combination of character and comedy. Kushboo has done a full-length comedy role in the film. Satyaraj has not imitated anybody in this film. He plays an innocent elder person and this gives room for humour that does not hurt anyone. Sibi and Nikitha provide the romance ingredient. ``It is the marriage of Satyaraj's daughter that is in progress at the Golden Beach," explains the director. "The marriage reception is to be shot tomorrow. It has a music programme and the highlight is Srikanth Deva will conduct the show. He is the composer and after much persuasion agreed to appear on the screen," he says.
Lakshmi Priyan is happy that he has got some of the best technicians to work with him in the film. "Director Thambi Ramaiya, director of `Manuneedhi' is the villain. Kasi Viswam is in charge of the camera. ``I have written the lyric for one of the songs," says Lakshmi Priyan. ``But we have the regulars including `Cool' Jayanth and Pa. Vijai, Ugabharathi and Viveka taking care of the songs," he concludes.
