Renovation on

Renovation work has begun at Sri Bhaktha Anjaneyar temple, AG's Colony, Kottivakkam. The work will involve construction of a new temple with two-tier vimanam, Ardha Mandapam etc., which will cost Rs. 10 lakhs in Phase I. To facilitate four-month-long renovation, Balalaya Pravesam ceremony took place recently with the performing of all Vedic rites.

Senior citizens were honoured along with honorary consultants Rajappa, chairman of the Board of Trustees, Tiruvanmiyur temple and G. Natarajan, president of Tiruvanmiyur Temple Friday Festival Committee.

Music and dance fest

Oothukadu Venkatakavi Academy Trust is celebrating the poet's Jayanthi with a music and dance festival from September 23-25 at Dakshinamurthy Auditorium, P. S. H. S. School, R. K. Mutt Road, Mylapore. Former director of Doordarshan, Chennai will inaugurate the festival at 6 p.m. on the first day. Narayana Viswanath, chairman, Viswanarayana Associates, will preside. S. V. Krishnan, convenor, Naada Inbam, and Prof. T. R. Subramaniam will be the guests of honour.

Annual festival

The annual festival of Peyazhwar Mangalasasanam to Sri Parthasarathy temple at Triplicane will take place on September 29. Peyazhwar will be taken in a procession to Triplicane via Alwar Avatarasthalam at 3 p.m. and will be received at the temple at 4 p.m. Peyazhwar will be taken out in a procession with Sri Parthasarathy Perumal at 6 p.m. and will reach the temple at 10 p.m.

Purattasi festival

Purattasi Maavilakku festival will be conducted at the Oppiliappan Pattabhisheka Ramar temple, Nanganallur, on all Satrudays (Sept 24-Oct15) at 6 p.m. For details contact 22300052, 24952720.
