Dance Performances
Sushmita Ghosh, disciple of Guru Munna Shukla presented `Abhisaarika', a Kathak dance this past week at the Habitat Centre. Ganesa Natyalaya presented at the Triveni "Swagatham Krishna", a Bharatanatyam recital by Srividvatha Sridhar, disciple of Saroja Vaidyanathan. Pratidhwani presented "Purbasha", an Odissi recital by Ispita Behoora and her associates on the occasion of its fifth annual cultural celebration at the Habitat World.
Social Message
Talent Theatre Group presented a theatre performance "Mera Sawal, Mera Sapna" at the Poorva Sanskritik Kendra. The play is a social message on issues of child labour, for the ILO's Indus project.
Exhibitions
While Gallerie Ganesha's exhibition of recent paintings by Mohan Singh concluded early this week, Apparao Galleries presented a group show of collages titled "Passion with Paper" at the Visual Arts Gallery and paintings by Alexis Kersey at the Open Palm Court. Apparao Galleries also presented another exhibition titled "The Dancing Lines", by Maya Burman, at the Triveni.The month-long fund-raising exhibition of photographs by Tarun Chhabra concluded at the Habitat. Bablu Basak's painting exhibition "Replays and Revisings" was also on view at the Habiart Gallery.
